Workshop: Remote Surface & Groundwater Monitoring Solutions

Together with TSBE, Qteq recently organised a half-day workshop at the TAFE Queensland Toowoomba campus, focusing on surface water and groundwater characterisation, monitoring, management and flood mitigation.

Throughout the afternoon, attendees, representing a wide range of industries, councils, water authorities and academia, were invited to identify and discuss major challenges associated with locating, preserving and allocating scarce water resources, and the attendant problem of demand growth.

Tim Vale, Qteq’s hydrogeologist, also explained how the company can help safeguard communities from the impacts of water floods, triggered by extreme weather events.

By installing Smart Sentinel systems at strategic locations prone to flooding, Qteq is able to provide real-time actionable data and early warning alert notifications that deliver advanced situational awareness capabilities to its clients.

A number of major water authorities, councils and government departments are already benefiting from these smart sensor platforms and advanced cloud-based data analytics solutions.

The ongoing severe weather event drenching close to half the entire population of Australia has served to emphasise the growing importance for natural disaster monitoring and mitigation systems to alert communities and protect lives.
