Qteq, the world’s largest supplier of subsurface wired pressure gauge systems, today announced that it has been awarded a multi-year contract by Australia’s Origin Energy.
Under the terms of the contract Qteq, as the primary supplier, will provide permanent downhole pressure monitoring systems and completions equipment to optimise production from Origin’s CSG assets across Australia.
Qteq’s Chief Executive Officer, Ewan Meldrum, said the contract cemented Qteq’s position as the leading provider of subsurface monitoring and completions technologies to the CSG industry.
“Our ability to provide real-time, actionable data that results in a direct economic return for our customers, has not gone unnoticed. We also work closely with government and regulators to understand environmental and sustainability mandates, and have responded by developing world class subsurface technologies that will boost our industry’s social license to operate.” Mr Meldrum said.
Qteq’s Managing Director for Monitoring, Stuart McCulloch, said this contract award was affirmation of Qteq’s ongoing focus and commitment to supporting Australia’s diverse onshore georesources industries.
“Qteq has continued to demonstrate its commitment to offering the most advanced subsurface products and services, at the most affordable prices.” Mr McCulloch continued.
Qteq’s Chief Innovation Officer, Quentin Morgan, said the company has also developed a range of wireless subsurface monitoring technologies.
“These are intended to complement, not supplant, our flag-shipped wired pressure gauge systems, but will ensure we are positioned to meet growing CSG industry interest for such systems as gas production from these assets matures,
“At Qteq, innovation never sleeps as we continue to scour the world for economically appropriate solutions allowing us to face the challenges we are confronted with in our industry.”
