The Australian Groundwater Conference (AGC) held in Brisbane, Australia, featured a technical program around the theme of “Groundwater in a Changing World”. The 3 day AGC 2019 conference brought together groundwater industry experts from around the globe and hosted the International Association of Hydrogeologists’ (IAH) Australia 2019 Groundwater Industry Awards.

Following the initial day of conference proceedings on Monday 25th November an evening ceremony took place at which Qteq was awarded the IAH Groundwater Innovation and Technology award 2019 for leading the introduction of Borehole Magnetic Resonance (BMR) logging techniques into the Australian and global groundwater industries.

Other 2019 prizes were awarded for Groundwater Industry Excellence, Groundwater Professional, IAH Young Professional, IAH Student Award and Best Groundwater Photo.

Qteq’s Chief Executive Officer, Ewan Meldrum, said that the acknowledgement received from peers in the industry underlines the important role the company’s innovative BMR technology plays.

“We are honoured to have been selected for this award as it emphasises the part we all have to play in securing our most precious resource: water,” Mr Meldrum said.

“We are committed to continuing to develop additional techniques and technologies that will further assist the groundwater and wider georesources industries to bring about lasting improvements to the management of our vital groundwater resources.”

Qteq is the recipient of the 2019 WA Industry & Export Award for Technology & Innovation and will be representing WA at the 57th Australian Export Awards, to be held on 3rd December in Canberra.
