On Tuesday 2nd October, Federal MP Trevor Evans officially opened Qteq’s new Headquarters (QHQ) at Level 3, 340 Adelaide Street in Brisbane.
Amongst the respected guests were the Honourable Dr Anthony Lynham (Minister for Natural Resources, Mines and Energy) and his Policy Advisor Matthew Pitman, Ms Ali Davenport (CEO of Toowoomba and Surat Basin Enterprise) with a sizable contingent of TSBE staff, and a number of industry professionals and stakeholders.
Qteq’s Chairman and CEO, Simon Ashton, welcomed the distinguished guests to the new facility, commenting “At Qteq we work hard to ensure that our people have access to the best and most conducive work environments that facilitate innovation and enjoyment in the workplace,
“These new offices provide everyone with not only an ergonomically designed workspace but will also allow them to enjoy the natural sunlight via the large outdoor balcony areas.”
Coming off the back of the recently announced QGC multi-year gauge contract, Mr Ashton also announced the significant upgrade and further investment into the Qteq Toowoomba Centre of Excellence (QTCoE), where the company intends to construct an artificial lift test loop, calibration and product development facilities, as well as bring its expansive minerals logging operations under a single roof.
“We are creating a significant number of new high value Qteq jobs in Regional Australia and endeavouring to procure as much as possible from the local economy in our supply chain,” Mr Ashton said.
“The investments in our wireless gauge business line, downhole spectroscopy tools, RC Measurement Whilst Drilling (MWD) systems, and the game-changing SureQ rodless pump systems will require a range of new technical positions and present great opportunities for local suppliers.”
Qteq, currently predominantly owned by its staff & management, has over 115 staff across Australia, with plans for that to increase to close to 200 by the end of the year.
